I had a great experience at Hot Lola's. The cashier was very nice and I ordered quickly. I was excited to find out that they have ACTUAL SWEET TEA, which is rare in NoVA. Even in "Southern style" establishments it's not always available so this was nice. I would have loved a non sweet option too but I made due just fine. The sandwich itself came out very quickly and it was HUGE. Well worth the $12 price. I got the OG Hot which was kind of spicy but I would probably get a level or two up next time. Overall the food was great and so was the service and I look forward to my next Lola's sandwich

I got take out from this hidden gem. To set the record, I'm a huge fan of Nashville hot tenders. I haven't found a place that competes with true Nashville style but this might be the one. They call themselves a Sichuan x Nashville style and I like it, but honestly they taste very much like the true Nashville style, with maybe a slight hint of sweetness. They also have a house sauce that pairs very well with the tenders. They serve them with bread, pickles, and waffle fries or coleslaw. The fries were perfect... That seasoned crunchy style is my favorite. They coat the tenders a bit heavy in the breading but I wasn't against it this time. Maybe next time I can ask for lighter batter, but not a deal breaker. Their spice is also apparently made without lard and their own oil style, which tasted fine to me. Spice levels were maybe a tad weak though... Got level 6 and it wasn't all that spicy so might up that next time. They also have sandwiches which I plan to return for. There's also other chicken dishes which maybe I'll try later down the road. But speaking for the tenders, taste, style, etc, I give them 5 stars. Go try them out! And no not a paid review lol

Wow — this was hands down the best Nashville hot chicken I’ve ever had! I started with the Taj Ma-hot sandwich, which struck the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The bun was just the right size to hold the generously battered and perfectly fried chicken without falling apart. The chicken itself was thick, juicy, and tender, while the breading was crunchy, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Next up were the tenders (I ordered the Flippin’ Hot heat level). They packed a serious punch of spice but still delivered amazing flavor — bold, fiery, and addictively good. Finally, the house-made buttermilk ranch deserves its own mention. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients, especially the dill, which makes it stand out from any store-bought version. Generous portions, outstanding flavor, and a fair price. Easily a 5/5 — highly recommend!

Great fried chicken sandwich place in Ballston Quarter with the best breading flavor I've ever had on a fries chicken. The regular hot Lola's sandwich is great. The miso honey sandwich is OK. The chicken tenders have that same tasty breading flavor, so actually it was too much of the strong flavor, and I think I prefer the sandwich. I don't really personally enjoy waffle fries but they're well fried. The orange sauce tastes just like Chik Fil A sauce

Still my favorite chicken sandwich - try the Hot Boy for medium heat. Excellent service and friendly staff. Hope this shop grows franchises all throughout the east.

I was new to the area and just finished a job and was extremely hungry. After scrolling around I found a place that had some food I recognized. Little did I know it would be one of the best plates I’ve had EVER! I had the chicken wings with O.G. Hot Sauce. OMG!!! The crispy breading. The flavor. The tender meat. I couldn’t stop licking my fingers. The waffle fries were well seasoned and fresh. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I also want to add that the hostess was so patient with me because I didn’t have a clue what I was going to get. Absolutely outstanding. Five stars all around.

Initially shocked and how delicious the real piece of chicken in the Hot Lola’s sandwich was. The ranch aioli and coleslaw complemented the sandwich very well. I hope you put chick-fil-a out of business.

Best chicken sandwiches in the city! Huge portions, very crispy and tender chicken and so incredibly flavorful! They are know for their spicy blend of Szechuan style & Nashville hot chicken sandwiches so if you can handle heat try the different higher levels of spice but I dont recommend going into the red ;) The nice thing is that they lower levels for some of us who can’t handle heat- I usually do a “shy guy” on their Hot Lola Original which has a kick but does not burn. It’s a fast food kinda spot so nothing fancy inside but has tons of seating!

Still my favorite fast casual place for getting hot fried chicken. I typically go with the OG level of spice and it is just slightly uncomfortable to a person who regularly eats spicy food. A little disappointed that the prices have climbed so much recently, but that's the economy we live in right now. I ordered the five tender combo with fries and it is guaranteed to be multiple meals, also the kids menu is a great option for those that want a smaller but satisfying bite.
